May is National Bicycle Safety Month and we want to remind you that bike helmets save lives and prevent injuries. The use of a bike helmet is the single most effective way to prevent head and brain injuries. Here are some statistics from the CDC that will encourage you to use your helmet on a regular basis: • Helmets reduce serious head injuries by 60% • They reduce traumatic brain injury by 53% • They reduce the number of cyclists killed or seriously injured by 34% In addition to wearing a helmet for every ride, make sure you have a good fit.
