Menlo Park, Calif. – On July 28, 2026, the Menlo Park Police Department in partnership with the Public Work’s Transportation Division conducted a pedestrian safety enforcement operation. The operation focused on educating motorists and enforcing California's pedestrian right-of-way laws to improve the safety of pedestrians and all roadway users.
The enforcement locations were selected using collision data and roadway safety priorities in an effort to work towards the City of Menlo Park's Vision Zero Action Plan. By focusing enforcement efforts in high-priority traffic safety areas, the operation supported the City's ongoing commitment to reducing traffic collisions and improving pedestrian safety.
The Menlo Park Police Department reminds motorists that yielding to pedestrians is not only the law, but it's one of the simplest ways to help prevent serious traffic collisions. Every driver plays an important role in creating safer streets for everyone.
