Menlo Park, Calif. — On August 21, 2022, just after 1:20 p.m., Menlo Park Police Department received a call via cellular 911 reporting a shooting that had just occurred in the area of Oak Grove Avenue and Alma Street.
Menlo Park Police Officers were on scene within two minutes of the call, and located a male victim suffering from gunshot wounds. Aid was rendered by officers while awaiting emergency medical responders, and ensured the victim was quickly transported to the nearest hospital. The victim appears to have non-life threatening injuries.
Officers immediately began to search for the involved suspects. Preliminary investigation reveals four subjects in a parked vehicle were the intended targets of a drive-by shooting.
Menlo Park detectives are following leads and investigating the incident.
The investigation indicates that this was an isolated incident - the suspects fled the scene immediately after the crime, and there is no active threat in the area.
