The City of Menlo Park received an application, submitted by Presidio Bay Ventures, to redevelop the approximately 17.75-acre former United States Geological Survey (USGS) campus located at 345 Middlefield Road. The project would demolish all but one building and perform site improvements across the two parcels, and would consist of the following components:
- Construction of three multifamily residential buildings consisting of 670 housing units, including 101 below-market-rate (BMR) units
- Adaptive reuse and expansion of the existing USGS Building 15
- Three new office buildings
- 40,000 square feet of neighborhood-serving commercial space, including a 15,000-square-foot childcare center
- Amenities and neighborhood-serving retail space
- Approximately three acres of publicly accessible open space
In total, the project would include approximately 740,000 square feet of office space, an increase of about 320,000 square feet above the existing office space. City staff are evaluating the submittal package and will provide the applicant with initial feedback within 30 days of submittal.
