Help reduce dumping on the City’s streets
Dumping garbage and unwanted items on the City's streets is illegal. You can face up to $500 in fines and a misdemeanor. Recology offers two free collection services of large and bulky items a year for residents in Menlo Park. You must schedule collections ahead of time with Recology. Multifamily properties must contact their property owners to have these collections coordinated for their entire complex.
Collections include:
- Two cubic yards of bagged or boxed solid waste (aprox. 12 garbage bags)
- One large appliance (washer, dryer, refrigerator)
- One bulky item (mattress, furniture, 4 tires)
- One e-waste item (computer monitor, microwave, TV)
Recology will not pick up: liquids, dirt, rocks, ashes, concrete or hazardous waste.
As a pilot program, CCTVs are being used to monitor the areas where dumping is an issue. Visit the Mobile CCTV Pilot Program for more information on surveillance.
For more information, visit the Recology website. You can schedule a bulky item collection online or call 650-595-3900.
Please report illegal dumping on ACT Menlo Park, the City’s online reporting tool.
