The below items will be heard by the Planning Commission under hearing procedures conforming to Government Code §54953(e). The agenda will be published a minimum of 72 hours before the Planning Commission meeting and will provide a more detailed description of hearing procedures.

Study Session/City of Menlo Park/Accessory Dwelling Unit Ordinance update:
Study session to provide an overview and receive feedback on proposed amendments to accessory dwelling unit regulations (Chapter 16.79 of the Zoning Ordinance, Title 16 of the Menlo Park Municipal Code) for consistency with State law and to implement city objective development and design standards. Potential topics of discussion at the study session include, but are not limited to, whether to develop or modify objective development standards related to:
- Use permit requests to modify state and/or local ADU regulations;
- Daylight plane requirements for ADUs;
- Internal access between ADUs and primary dwelling units; and
- Development of multiple ADUs on a single-family residential property.
The proposed amendments will require additional review and action by the Planning Commission and the City Council at future scheduled public meetings, anticipated in 2026.
