At the upcoming April 29 meeting, Menlo Park City Council will take action on the proposed parking removal from the north side of Coleman Avenue to add a bike lane and installation of stop signs on Coleman Avenue at Santa Monica Avenue. At the October 22, 2024, City Council meeting, City Council approved proceeding with a pilot project to improve safety and mobility on the City’s portion of Coleman Avenue (from Willow Road to Riordan Place). Council will now consider the following improvements:
Coleman Avenue is a corridor used by many people, including students, to bike and walk between neighborhoods and schools, including Laurel Lower Campus, Menlo-Atherton High School and Laurel Upper Campus. These proposed improvements would improve safety for people biking, walking and driving.
