Menlo Park worked with San Mateo County Emergency Management to update the City's Local Hazard Mitigation Plan. This plan lists local hazards and vulnerabilites, and sets priorities to protect people, property, infrastructure and essential services. It also connects hazard mitigation with the City's climate adaption, infrastructure, emergency operations and continuity planning.
Updating the plan helps Menlo Park respond to changing risks and set priorities for the next five years. Having an approved plan aslo keeps the City eligible for state and federal grants that can support projects to reduce disaster damage, protect essential services and build community resilience.
