MPPD participates in the Law Enforcement Torch Run May 21
Published on May 26, 2026
The Menlo Park Police Department proudly participated in the annual Law Enforcement Torch Run May 21, continuing a tradition that began in 1981 to raise awareness and support for Special Olympics athletes. Over the decades, the Torch Run has grown into a global movement involving law enforcement agencies and community partners who join together to promote inclusion and celebrate the determination of Special Olympics competitors.
This year, the “Flame of Hope” was ceremoniously passed to our staff at Menlo College, who continued the run down El Camino Road and carried it proudly to the finish line in Palo Alto. The relay once again highlighted the power of teamwork and the strong bonds within our community, making this year’s Torch Run another memorable and impactful event.
