At its Oct. 27 meeting, the City Council unanimously approved program guidelines to administer a rental assistance program and a legal assistance program for qualifying residents of Menlo Park. The goal is to address housing instability by reducing households from being displaced. As part of the City’s Anti-displacement Plan, creating a rental assistance program and a legal assistance program were identified as the top priorities for implementation.
Today, Nov. 2, the City of Menlo Park released a Request for Proposals (RFP) seeking qualified and experienced service providers to administer the rental and legal assistance services. Service providers are encouraged to apply and may submit proposals to administer either or both programs, individually or in partnership with other organizations. The City of Menlo Park is particularly interested in providers that can effectively connect residents with available City and County resources, assess their needs and make appropriate referrals. Proposals are due Friday, Dec. 4 at 5 p.m. with the goal of program implementation in early 2027.
Updates about the City's rental and legal assistance programs will be shared at menlopark.gov/rental-legal-assistance.
