The Urban Water Management Plan (UWMP) and associated Water Shortage Contingency Plan (WSCP) are a critical part of meeting Menlo Park Municipal Water customers’ long-range water supply needs for both normal and dry year weather conditions. The UWMP serves as the long-term guide to ensure a reliable water supply for the next 20 years. The WSCP outlines the City actions and demand management measures that may be implemented based on various future drought conditions. The City contracted with EKI Environment & Water, Inc. to develop both plans. Staff provided an update on the development of the 2025 UWMP to the City Council through an informational item from the May 19 meeting. A draft of the 2025 Urban Water Management Plan and Water Shortage Contingency Plan is now available for public review and comment on the City's Urban Water Management Plan webpage. The City Council will hold a public hearing to adopt both plans at its June 23 meeting. The City must submit the plans to the Department of Water Resources by July 1.
