On April 28, the City Council made annual appointments to six of seven City commissions.

Commissioners typically serve 4-year terms, similar to the City Council. Commissions meet regularly to collaborate on important community priorities. Advisory bodies, such as the Complete Streets Commission, Environmental Quality Commission, Finance and Audit Commission, Housing Commission, Library Commission and Parks and Recreation Commission collect feedback from the public, discuss subject matter areas in detail, establish an annual work plan and make recommendations to the City Council. The Planning Commission reviews development proposals on public and private lands for compliance with the General Plan and zoning ordinance.

As a member of the public, we welcome you to attend commission meetings as a way to learn more about City operations, programs and initiatives and to share ideas regarding topics that are important to you and your community. All commission meetings are open to the public, with options to attend in-person or online via Zoom. For more information on attending commission meetings, please visit our Commission webpage.

Congratulations to the newly appointed and reappointed commissioners!
