light update

Traffic signal upgrades on Willow Road at Coleman Avenue and Gilbert Avenue were made last week to enhance the safety of the intersections. With the upgrade, each intersection now includes a protected left-turn phase, while the permissive left turn remains available. A green arrow signal indicates that only left-turn movements have the right-of-way and vehicles no longer have to yield to oncoming traffic, which will be stopped by a red light. During a green light, the permissive left turn remains available, and drivers must ensure the intersection is clear before turning.

See below to understand the different signals and their meaning:

Circular Red: Complete stop or no entry into the intersection for all vehicles.
Protected left turn, Green Arrow: Left turn has the right-of-way with oncoming traffic stopped. You can proceed with your turn without yielding to oncoming traffic, but ensure the intersection is clear before turning.
Steady left turn, Yellow Arrow: Left turn with the right-of-way is about to stop. Proceed through the intersection with caution to complete your movement or slow to a stop.
Circular Green: Proceed through the intersection. The left turn does not have right-of-way. You must yield to oncoming traffic and pedestrians and complete the turn when it is safe to do so.
Circular Yellow: Indicates the light is about to turn red. Slow to stop or proceed through the intersection with caution to complete your movement.
