Exploratory well drilling at Willow Oaks School field

The City is evaluating three sites for emergency wells and is planning to drill temporary wells at the following locations:

• Fire Station No. 1, 300 Middlefield Rd., Date to be determined
• Willow Oaks School field, 620 Willow Rd., Nov. 13–Dec. 8
• SRI parking lot, 333 Ravenswood Ave., Date to be determined

The evaluation will determine well yields, cost estimates for each site and ultimately, provide the necessary information for staff to recommend next steps to the City Council for an underground reservoir and additional wells. The entire exploratory drilling process will take approximately three to four weeks at each site. Drilling activities will occur during normal daytime business hours, and noise reduction curtains will be installed in certain areas to reduce noise to nearby residents and businesses.
