Highway 101 is the busiest corridor in San Mateo County and is essential for getting people and goods to where they need to go. The corridor includes many types of transportation on and off the highway that connect the community including travel by foot, car, bus, bicycle and train. The San Mateo County Transportation Authority’s (SMCTA) vision for 101 is to be an interconnected corridor which serves the needs of all travelers in San Mateo County, no matter how they choose to travel. This strategy aims to identify and prioritize necessary transportation projects along the Highway 101 Corridor.

To meet this goal, the SCMTA has developed the Draft 101 Corridor Connect South County Multimodal Strategy. This strategy aims to identify and prioritize necessary transportation projects along the Highway 101 Corridor, focusing on the cities of Redwood City, North Fair Oaks, the Town of Atherton, Menlo Park and East Palo Alto. The South County Multimodal Strategy was developed through extensive planning, stakeholder input and data analysis to improve mobility, reduce congestion and enhance connectivity in South San Mateo County. The goal is to create a more efficient and sustainable transportation system that encourages the use of multiple options across the region.

Your feedback is essential. Share your input on the SMCTA plan draft through Jan. 16 and help shape the future of transportation in South San Mateo County.
