The City of Menlo Park received three proposals from development teams in response to the Request for Proposals (RFP) for development on City-owned Parking Plazas 1, 2 and/or 3. The RFP was released Sept. 15, and responses were due Dec. 15. The three responding teams were Alliant Communities, Presidio Bay Ventures and Related California. The RFP sought interest in achieving the project priorities of 345 units of affordable housing and replacement public parking for downtown businesses and visitors on any combination of the three lots. The RFP continues the process of implementing Housing Element program H4.G, which identifies the City-owned downtown parking lots as opportunities for housing and/or mixed-use development. City staff will review the proposals and present recommended next steps to the City Council in early 2026. Throughout the process, there will continue to be opportunities for community input. Stay informed and receive updates by subscribing to the project email list on the City’s website at menlopark.gov/downtowndevelopment. The submittals are available to view on the Downtown Development webpage.
