Two schools in Menlo Park hosted bike rodeos for over 100 students. On Thursday, Oct. 9, Laurel School Upper Campus hosted its annual bike rodeo for third grade students to practice bicycle safety skills. Additionally, on Wednesday, Oct. 29, Encinal Elementary School hosted its annual bike rodeo for fourth grade students.
Bike rodeos are a fun, hands-on opportunity for students to practice their bicycling skills like avoiding hazards, using hand signals and stopping. If you are interested in organizing a bike rodeo at your school, the Menlo Park Safe Routes to School team can provide guidance for volunteers.
