City advocates for VLF funding owed by the State

On April 7, City of Menlo Park staff and City Councilmembers joined other San Mateo County leaders to advocate that critical Vehicle Licensing Fee (VLF) funding - more than $100 million annually – be released by the State to San Mateo County and its 20 cities. This funding supports public safety and emergency response, health and mental health services and housing and homelessness programs.

Planning Commission to review an update to City’s ADU Ordinance

Tonight, April 13, at 7 p.m., the Planning Commission is scheduled to review and consider a recommendation to the City Council to adopt a new ADU Ordinance, which would comprehensively replace and update Chapter 16.79 (Accessory Dwelling Units) for consistency with State ADU law and to incorporate local objective standards. The Planning Commission is a recommending body to the City Council.

Affordable Housing and Inclusionary Zoning Study Virtual Meeting April

Community members are invited to learn more about the San Mateo County Multi-City Inclusionary Zoning and Affordable Housing Study at a virtual public meeting April 13 from 6–7 p.m. The City of Menlo Park is participating in this multi-city initiative to explore updates to and/or enact new affordable housing policies to be applied to new development projects.
