Alpine Trail

map showing the locations of the Alpine Trail closure

The Alpine Trail begins at the Sand Hill Road and Santa Cruz Avenue intersection and follows along the eastern edge of Santa Cruz Avenue and Alpine Road. The 7.6 mile trail connects Menlo Park to areas of San Mateo County, Stanford University, and Portola Valley. The City maintains and operates approximately 2,000-foot section of the trail from Sand Hill Road to the City limits on the east side of Alpine Road.

Due to significant erosion on a portion of the trail near Junipero Serra Boulevard, the segment in the City has been deemed unsafe for travel and will remain closed until further notice.
