The Community Watch Group (CWG) is a community-based volunteer initiative that encourages neighbors to work together to promote awareness, communication, and neighborhood safety. Through collaboration and information sharing, residents can help support crime prevention efforts and strengthen connections within their community.
The Menlo Park Police Department (MPPD) provides training, safety information, and liaison support to assist community volunteers; however, the Community Watch Group is independently organized and operated by participating residents and community members.
Participation in the CWG is voluntary and open to community members who are interested in promoting neighborhood awareness and serving as additional eyes and ears within their area. Volunteers may receive community safety resources and program materials intended to support neighborhood engagement and crime prevention efforts.
As part of the program, active CWG participants may also be eligible to receive an official Community Watch Group (“CWG”) yard sign to display at their residence in support of neighborhood awareness and community engagement efforts.
For additional information regarding the Community Watch Group, please contact the Menlo Park Police Department at (650) 330-6300 or by email at CWG@menlopark.gov.
